So where are the David-types today?
* Did you know that David had Philistines in his entourage? There were 600 loyal
Gittites who wouldn't let distress deter them from standing by David (2 Sam. 15:18).
They were from Gath -- Goliath's hometown -- former enemies! One of them, Ittai the
Gittite, was promoted to the position of commander under King David (2 Sam. 18:2).
While the above material
hardly reflects the state of most churches, its purpose is intended to provoke
thought, discussion and action in helping Christ's followers reach those in
hip-hop/street culture.
