Dealing with the street is NO JOKE.

Growing up means having to learn how to COPE.

It's simply a matter of SURVIVAL.

The stuff you have to learn to deal with:

Frustration. Injustice. Racism. No Money. Oppression. No Job. Loneliness. Boredom. Crime. 
People Changin' Up on You. Hopelessness. Violence. Exploitation. Hard Times.

Man, the list goes on 'n on 'n on 'n on ...

LIFE IS RUFF (RIDER).

A good way of learning how to deal with a situation is to develop your own coping mechanism.

People do it different ways.

Some try to act CUTE

Some act PRO (aff-wheats)

Some are so CHILL they COLD

Some are STRIVERS (like IVERS-Un)

Some JOKE a LOT (they always PLAYIN')

Some are SMOOVE (they close cousin 2 CHILL)

Some try to be all HARD (so they won't get hurt again)

Sure seems like everybody's trying real hard to be a PLAYA!

Every one's tryin' real hard to show they got their stuff 'n strut all together,
runnin' their game real tight against the clock.

The GOAL of the GAME?

Get all ya can 'n gettin' hurt as little as ya can before ya gotta take the big hit of the big hurt:

Getting Taken Outta the Game.

Forced Out.

DYING : the SAD LAST BLAST that PUTS this LIFE in the PAST.
Man, my thing is busted!

If we're really honest with ourselves, all our different ways of trying to deal with the hand dealt us
actually leaves us feelin' kinda EMPTY, LONELY, SAD and maybe even a little bit SCARED
(even those tryin' to act hard with no fear have to concede their act is an act!).

And just WHY is it so hard to really get ourselves together, anyway?

It has to do with MISSING the CRITICAL PIECE (PEACE):
The One Who continues to reveal Himself as the "I AM THAT I AM,"
Who is as able to deliver today as He was able to deliver in the past,
and Who will deliver His own again in the difficult days to come.



In spite of all the phony, foolish and forceful things that have been done "in His Name,"
He still delights in displaying His awesome power in our day, setting His people free.

Dude's name is JESUS. And He's more than just a Man -- He is GOD in a HUMAN BODY.
And until He's given the go-ahead to be a vital workin' part of your personal life and your world,
you just runnin' a losin' game. Ya gotta realize the game's for keeps, G.

SERIOUS!

It is He Who made us and not we ourselves.  He Himself gives all men life and breath and
everything else.  He determined the times set for [us] and the exact places where [we] should
live.  He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed.
He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead.
Psalm 100:3, Acts 17:25-26, 31

What He said is truth, whether anyone chooses to believe it or not.
HIS WORD IS BOND and HE'S BOUND HIMSELF TO IT.
The LORD means business and He expects no less from us.
GODLINESS IS SIMPLY TAKING GOD SERIOUSLY.

ONLY the WISE will WALK the GOLDEN STREET of HIS HOLY CITY.
YOU are INVITED to COME to HIM HERE and NOW so
YOU CAN BE with HIM THEN and THERE.

Lord Jesus, I gotta move on this if You're gonna save me.
I know I messed up.  I've sinned and I been sinned against.
It may be their bad, but I need You now to deal wit' my bad.
I gotta look to You, 'cause You're the Only One Who's truly good.
I believe You when You say You love me,
and You proved it when You poured out Your life's blood to save me from my sin.
Even if I was the only one around, I believe You would have come
'n died 'n be raised again to life jus' for me.
Have mercy on me, a sinner -- I want right now to receive You as my Savior,
so You can receive me as Your child.
Forgive me all my sin.  Send it away.
Deal with my wayward heart, my warrin' soul and my willful spirit.
I give You my wounded humanity.
Cleanse me with the blood You said You shed for me.
I now invite You to come into my heart -- and my world -- and make yourself right at home.
Make me Your brand new creation.

YUBM Ministries is intentionally focused on evangelizing, discipling and
empowering leadership amongst young urban Black males ( the YUBM ),
through building and maintaining intentional growth-oriented relationships;
particularly with those involved in and influenced by hip-hop / street culture.
YUBM Ministries also exists to enable the church more effectively reach out
to both the churched and the un-churched within this unique dynamic culture.
