Pray for Mason
Betha in his
remarkable decision to leave rap to follow the Lord Jesus,
and for his testimony to others still without hope in the overly-hyped world of hip-hop.
* While
surprised by the "conversion" of Mason Betha, please be aware that
YUBM
Ministries stands unequivocally opposed to his "total life prosperity" perspective.

MOST YOUNG PEOPLE probably aren't aware that they DO know most of the people listed in the left-hand column above, because they know them better known by their street or stage names. Most young people and young adults are probably well-acquainted with their work, and (like it or not) are, to some extent, in agreement with the ideologies p/resented in their material. These individuals are cultural leaders.
For better or for worse, these performers (among many others) are doing a surprisingly thorough job of influencing, leading, discipling and (dare we say it?) ruling young people through their respective crafts. [The last fourteen on the list are deceased, but their powerful influence is still felt.] Their cumulative impact is nothing short of astounding, and is a real challenge to counteract. But it can -- through simple, profound and powerful prayer (James 5:16). These are key playas much in need of keyed prayas!
|
|
Why? Because limelight burns. |
|
"The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers [which includes "playas"] and their governments [their respective media domains] to rule [influence, lead, disciple] well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.
He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we've learned: that there's one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us - Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth."
1 Timothy 2:1-6 from The Message by Eugene H. Peterson. Italicized parentheses are ours.

Without God, man cannot.
Without man, God will not.
Asking is the rule of His kingdom.
Charles Spurgeon
Before
Christopher Wallace (Biggie Smalls) passed, he said
somethin' a whole lot a folk say:
"I believe in God, I'm just not ready to dedicate my
whole life to Him."
Can
we ever be ready to die?
Is there life after death?
Born again - for real?
Ayo! Peep this »»
Why? 'Cause some day we
each gonna find out God's for real for real
about what we do with His Son Jesus -- and He
really ain't playin'.
Your opponent is playin' for keeps 'n he knows his
time is short.
He got U playin' just like him?
Watch ya back, bro -- U bein' played.
Revelation 12:10-12
